FAQ

Yes, we limit the experience to just 6 surfers. Why? Because we want YOU to have more waves!

Can I hire a surfboard?

Yes, surfboard hire is available. However, we strongly recommend bringing your own.

What's included in the photography package?

The package includes all photos and videos captured by our local Sumbanese photographer. This covers all photo and video footage from your surf sessions, plus lifestyle and land-based shots throughout the trip.

Can I book a private group?

Absolutely! We encourage group bookings and offer special rates:
* 5–6 surfers: 10% discount (private)
* 3–4 surfers: 5% discount (additional surfers may join)

When is the best season to visit Sumba?

The most consistent surf runs from April to October. However, the SouthWest coast of Sumba has waves year-round, and some breaks actually work best in the wet season (October–April).

Do I need to be an advanced surfer?

No. You don’t need to be advanced, but you should be confident and capable of handling yourself in open water.

Are non-surfers welcome?

Yes, non-surfers are welcome to join. Keep in mind, though, that SumbaSurfari is primarily a guided surf experience, meaning the trip involves a lot of time in and around the ocean.

How do I get to Sumba?

Fly into Tambolaka Airport (TMC) either via Bali or Kupang. Our team will then meet you on arrival.

What domestic airline is best?

NAM air. Their current policy for oversized luggage when commuting with surfboards is best.

What should I pack?
